Reading to understand and follow instructions

Below is an example of instructional writing.

“How to fry an egg in a microwave oven”

First put oil in a bowl and move it around the bowl. Then crack an egg into the bowl and break the yolk (the yellow part). During this step you can add salt, pepper, tomato sauce or other ingredients to add flavor. Next cover the bowl with a kitchen towel then place in the microwave oven for one minute on full power. Afterwards take the bowl out of the microwave and let the egg sit for another minute to cool down before eating it.
