Course Description
This is an introductory graduate level course in entrepreneurship. This course includes business, management, and entrepreneurship; communication and interpersonal skills; economics; and professional development foundations. This course helps students identify opportunity and develop an understanding of the steps and competencies required for launching a new business.
This course provides an overview of the entrepreneurial process. Students are encouraged to consider and entrepreneurial career. Specific topics include characteristics of successful entrepreneurs, techniques for finding and screening ideas, the politics of new ventures, valuation and deal making, writing a business plan, buying a business, family business dynamics, entrepreneurial leadership, venture philanthropy, and managing crisis and failure.
